Metro East

Lt. Governor Quinn, a former resident of Edwardsville, is committed to helping the Metro East grow and prosper.

The new Mississippi River Coordinating Council works with the river’s stakeholders to develop solutions to protect the health and viability of this national treasure. Find out more about the Council here.

Lt. Governor Quinn helped the Jackie Joyner Kersee Boys and Girls Club acquire surplus state computers to help bridge the digital divide in East St. Louis. Find more community networks here.

It’s not a secret that the Metro East region gets very hot in the summer. To help elderly and other vulnerable residents cope with the summer temperatures, Lt. Governor Quinn created the Illinois Fan Club. In 2005, more than 1,000 free fans were distributed by community action agencies across downstate Illinois. Find energy saving tips here.
