Illinois Heartsaver AED Fund

Automated External Defibrillators save lives. That's why IL Lt. Gov. Pat Quinn wants AED's to be as common as fire extinguishers in Illinois schools, park districts and physical fitness facilities. He helped set up the Illinois Heartsaver AED Fund to help public organizations purchase life-saving AED's.

 
  
Save a Heart and Save a Life this Valentine’s Day

(Springfield) – On Thursday, Feb. 14, at 1:30 p.m., Lt. Governor Pat Quinn will honor nearly 40 Illinois citizens with Heartsaver Hero Awards. Heartsaver Heroes are individuals who have either saved a life using an Automated External Defibrillator (AED), or served as a citizen advocate in the growing grassroots movement to make AED’s as common as fire extinguishers in the Land of Lincoln.

Illinois Goes Smoke Free
Today, Illinois goes smoke free. Thanks to the Smoke Free Illinois Act, residents of the Land of Lincoln will breathe smoke-free air in all public places.
