Operation Homefront is an effort driven by Lt. Governor Pat Quinn to create a resource library dedicated to the service men and women from the Land of Lincoln, their families, and the citizens and organizations that support them.

What We Do
Since the Global War on Terror began in 2001, more than 20,000 members of the lllinois National Guard and Reserves have been called up to active duty. Since taking office in 2003, Lt. Gov. Pat Quinn has worked to assist active duty service, reserve, and National Guard servciemembers, veterans and their families. The Lt. Governor has been acknowledged nationwide as a leader in creating model legislation and programs to assist active service members and veterans of the U.S. Armed Forces.

MARION - October 7, 2008. Lt. Governor Quinn unveils the Portrait of a Soldier memorial exhibition in Marion on the 7th anniversary of the beginning of the conflict in Afghanistan.

EFFINGHAM - September 26, 2008. Hand-drawn portraits of more than 180 Illinois men and women who have died serving our country since September 11, 2001 were unveiled in Effingham as part of the Portrait of a Soldier memorial exhibition.

PEORIA - September 26, 2008. Lt. Governor Pat Quinn joined with Central Illinois Proud Families to launch the 4th Annual Operation Santa and call on fellow Illinoisans to send Christmas stockings to servicemembers overseas.
CHICAGO - September 25, 2008. Lt. Governor Pat Quinn joined with labor unions and veterans groups on Thursday in a salute to the Illinois Helmets to Hardhats program and encouraged local veterans to visit the Teamsters job fair to aid with the transition from the front lines to civilian life.
