Also while in Genoa, visit the Kishwaukee Valley Heritage Museum. The museum holds many items including the first horse-drawn hearse of DeKalb County.
Marengo, one of the newest Illinois Main Street communities also lies along the Kishwaukee River. Nearby open areas are home to some of the most abundant vegetation and animal colonies in one of the state’s healthiest and cleanest watersheds.

Main Street Lincoln is working with the Abraham Lincoln Bicentennial Commission in Lincoln to provide a reenactment of Abraham Lincoln's 1858 speech to 5,000 people.
