  Genoa Genoa

"Genoa has welcomed visitors as a stagecoach stop since 1835 and continues to look forward to your visit"

Even today Genoa's Main Street retains its rural charm with buildings dating back to the early 1800's. The Pacific House, built in 1843, is one of the state's few remaining stagecoach inns, along the historic Chicago to Galena Stagecoach Trail.

Genoa history can be explored at the Milwaukee Road Depot and Museum. The Kishwaukee Valley Heritage Museum offers a rich collection displayed in photographs and artifacts documenting Genoa's history since 1835.

Visit Genoa's Main Street shoppes and restaurants, including a Victorian tea room and an award-winning winery.

Explore Russell Forest Preserve, which offers fishing, canoeing and winter sports as cross-country skiing and sledding.
