Welcome to Walk Across Illinois!

In 2001, Lt. Governor Pat Quinn hiked 167 miles from the Mississippi River to Lake Michigan to promote decent health care for everyone. Now he has an idea to help you promote your own health.

The Walk Across Illinois is a health initiative designed to encourage Illinois residents to walk at least 167 miles in one year, the equivalent of walking across Illinois from the Mississippi River to Lake Michigan.

No matter whether you're young or old, walking is an easy and fun activity that everyone can do at their own pace. Walk Across Illinois participants can take their first steps by signing up here.

If you are a group wanting to participate, please call 312-814-5220 or email walk.ltgov@illinois.gov.
