The Jane Addams Recreational Trail, part of the Grand Illinois Trail, provides scenic views as well as a history lesson. From the Wes Block Trail entrance, the trail stretches almost 13 miles long up to the Wisconsin Border. The trail includes 21 bridges, rivers and creeks, natural wetlands, exposed rock embankments and several small communities and farms. The trail also offers a variety of plants and flowers that brighten the trail. The trail also tells the history of the area, beginning from the Native Americans to the pioneer families to the town’s first entrepreneurs.
