River Way offers 65 miles of parks, trails, and overlooks around and along both sides of the Mississippi River. Of the many trails in the Quad Cities region, the Great River Trail begins in Rock Island and continues north to Savanna for nearly 60 miles of riverfront views. It passes through the Illinois communities of Rock Island, Moline, and Hampton and provides scenic views of the river as well as of the historic Illinois communities. In Rock Island County, the Great River Trail passes the Rock Island Arsenal, the Quad City Botanical Center, Sylvan Island, and the Mark of the Quad Cities.
