Lt. Governor Quinn joins with local environmentalists to promote alternative fuel, vegetable oil

CHICAGO – On Saturday, April 26, at 10:00 a.m., Lt. Governor Pat Quinn will join with representatives from Chicago Biofuels, the Green Chicago Restaurant Co-op, Ina’s Restaurant and The Field Museum – and their “veggie diesel van” – to promote the alternative, clean fuel technology of vegetable oil. 

Lt. Gov. Quinn salutes ComEd’s switch to eco-friendly transformers using soy-based insulation fluid

CHICAGO On Wednesday, April 23, at 10:30 a.m., Lt. Governor Pat Quinn will join representatives of Illinois’ soybean industry to salute a new eco-friendly initiative by ComEd and Cooper Power Systems that will replace transformers using petroleum-based insulation fluid with new, soy oil-insulated equipment.

ROCK ISLAND – On Monday, April 21, at 11:15 a.m., Lt. Governor Pat Quinn will celebrate Earth Week in the Council Chambers of the Rock Island City Hall, 1528 Third Avenue in Rock Island.  He will salute the City of Rock Island for its forward-looking green initiatives and State Rep. Mike Boland (D-East Moline) for his sponsorship of HB5113, the Green Buildings Act.

ROCKFORD – On the eve of Earth Day, Monday April 21 at 9:30 a.m., Lt. Governor Pat Quinn will join local leaders to honor a Rockford volunteer organization with an Environmental Hero award for inspiring a volunteer revolution in the Land of Lincoln.
