Sister Cities

Illinois welcomes more than one million international visitors each year who spend $1.5 billion on goods and services.  International trade and foreign investment in our state support almost one million Illinois jobs.

Lt. Governor Quinn is promoting international cooperation by helping Illinois communities become Sister Cities. This global movement builds local partnerships across borders that support reciprocal cultural, educational, professional and technical exchanges and projects. Sister Cities International, the coordinating agency for these global partnerships, is celebrating its 50th Anniversary in 2006.

If you would like assistance becoming a Sister City please contact Lt. Governor Quinn’s Office.
