Jane Addams was born in the Northern Stateline region. She went on to become one of Illinois’ most successful residents by starting the juvenile justice movement, creating Hull House and eventually wining the Nobel Peace Prize. In 2006, Lt. Governor Quinn championed the creation of a Jane Addams Day. Now, every December 10, residents across Illinois will remember and honor this hero.
Lt. Governor Quinn is Chairman of the Broadband Deployment Council. The Council is helping communities across the state develop innovative means to bridge the digital divide. ROC-Net is building out one of the state’s largest universal broadband projects in a ten county area surrounding Rockford. Find out more about the Council here. |
