Governor Pat Quinn will join Chicago-area children in a neighborhood community center as they learn to use brand new XO laptops, which were donated through a collaborative effort of Chicago charities and caring citizens who are committed to equipping students with laptop computers - the textbooks of the 21st century.

CHICAGO - Emphasizing the importance of bridging the digital divide in Illinois, Lt. Governor Pat Quinn asked the Chicago City Council Monday to consider a citizen ordinance that would make laptop learning a reality in every Chicago neighborhood.

(Forest Park) - On Monday, March 10, at 1:30 p.m. - only four days after the Children's Low-Cost Laptop Act passed unanimously out of committee - Lt. Governor Pat Quinn joined with local officials and community leaders to urge lawmakers to quickly make the laptop learning initiative law.
