Operation Homefront is an effort driven by Lt. Governor Pat Quinn to create a resource library dedicated to the service men and women from the Land of Lincoln, their families, and the citizens and organizations that support them.

What We Do
Since the Global War on Terror began in 2001, more than 20,000 members of the lllinois National Guard and Reserves have been called up to active duty. Since taking office in 2003, Lt. Gov. Pat Quinn has worked to assist active duty service, reserve, and National Guard servciemembers, veterans and their families. The Lt. Governor has been acknowledged nationwide as a leader in creating model legislation and programs to assist active service members and veterans of the U.S. Armed Forces.

CHICAGO - January 23, 2009. Lt. Governor Quinn joined with Chicagoland schoolchildren to encourage children and adults across Illinois to create handmade valentines for servicemembers overseas and hospitalized veterans.

CHICAGO – On Saturday, January 17 at 11:00 a.m. in the Logandale Middle School Gymnasium, Lt. Governor Pat Quinn unveiled a memorial plaque in honor of local fallen hero Staff Sgt Jason Vasquez, a Logandale Middle School athlete and graduate.

CHICAGO - December 22, 2008. Lt. Governor Quinn presented wounded Iraq War veteran, Army Specialist Jacob Kieler, with an early Christmas present - tickets to see his favorite team, the Chicago Bears, play the Green Bay Packers on Monday Night Football!
