Illinois Main Street/Office of Lt. Governor Pat Quinn provides a targeted set of services to participating communities through its tiered system.
Introductory Level
Communities just beginning the revitalization process or interested in learning more about the Main Street Approach. Introductory communities receive access to training, professional consultation, monthly newsletter and downtown revitalization information. Applications are accepted at any time. Associate Level
Application to the designated level of Illinois Main Street is an annual competitive process. Towns accepted become Associates, and receive intensive training and services to build a comprehensive downtown management program. Designated Programs
Programs that have met the National requirements and are successfully applying the Main Street Approach in their communities. Designated programs receive a full range of services from Illinois Main Street.
Premier Communities
Mature Main Street programs that serve as a model to those just beginning the downtown revitalization process. Awarded to designated programs annually.
Design Services
Lt. Governor Pat Quinn in cooperation with the Illinois Historic Preservation Agency offers complimentary design services to designated Illinois Main Street communities. For more information on services they provide, visit the Illinois Historic Preservation Agency website.
Web Services
IllinoisMainStreet.org is the online home of the nation's fourth largest Main Street program. All Associate and higher level Illinois Main Street communities have individual pages on this website featuring local events, WiFI hotspots and tourism information. The same communities are included in many different print and podcast tours.
