Stop ComEd/Ameren Rate Hikes
Lt. Governor Quinn is leading a citizen movement to stop the ComEd/Ameren rate hikes that could lead to 55% increases in electric bills. Quinn is supporting a three-year extension of Illinois' electric rate freeze. In the spirit of the Boston Tea Party, Quinn is urging Illinois electric ratepayers to send tea bags with the electric bill payments to protest the unfair rate increases. According to Quinn, "it defies common sense to claim this power procurement system is competitive and on the square."
Sustainable University Compact
Lt. Governor Quinn and the Green Government Coordinating Council recently introduced the Sustainable University Compact. This voluntary pledge consists of up to 12 environmental goals that campuses pledge to adopt within four years. To see the signatory campuses and read the compact please click here.
