Lt. Governor Quinn salutes John A. Logan College for thinking and acting green

CARTERVILLE — October 15, 2008.  Lt. Gov. Pat Quinn joined John A. Logan College board members and administrators to launch two projects aimed at creating a greener Illinois.

Campus leaders welcomed Quinn as they modeled a soon-to-be-constructed 85-car pervious pavement parking lot that will capture rainwater so it can be reabsorbed into the earth, preventing needless flooding and pollution.  He was also on hand to salute the College for their purchase of a 2007 Toyota Prius, which will become part of a community car sharing program.

“It’s important to realize the green way of acting is important for jobs,” Quinn said. “A way to prosperity in the 21st century is taking on this green challenge.”
