One in six Illinois children go to bed hungry every night. The plague of hunger also includes senior citizens, rural residents, working parents and others who get their basic nutrition from food pantries.

Food banks across the state are working together to end the hunger challenge. In the last three years, the Office of Lt. Governor Quinn has awarded $129,000 in grants to help food banks increase their capacity. These food banks are now distributing 93 million pounds of good each year.
If you need assistance finding a food bank or obtaining government services please contact Lt. Governor Quinn’s constituent services staff.
